A 17 kb genomic fragment containing mouse Igf2 was modified by replacing the coding region (exons 4, 5, and a 5' portion of exon 6) with the LacZ reporter gene. A small 5' fragment of the noncoding region of the Igf2 exon 1 was also left out of this construct. A 7 kb genomic fragment containing the mouse Igf2/H19 enhancer sequences (Rr28) from downstream of H19 was placed downstream of the Igf2-LacZ construct. (J:90325)
