Using CRISPR/Cas9 technology, the CrexER (Cre-rox-ER-rox) was generated by the insertion of two rox sequences flanking ERT2, a cDNA encoding CrexER recombinase was inserted into the translational stop codon of the Ccna2 gene, following endogenous Ccna2 by the self-cleaving peptide 2A sequence.
