The cDNA for the only known transcript of Scnn1g with a 3 V5 epitope tag and a neomycin resistance gene were inserted in frame, distal to the start codon in exon 2. Immunoblots of whole kidneys and lungs and Western blot analysis of kidney and lung lysates show reduced expression of the gamma-subunit in homozygotes, indicating this is a hypomorphic allele.
