The targeting vector inserted an IRES-Cre cassette into the 3-untranslated region immediately downstream of exon 12 of the Slc17a7 gene. The positive selection cassette was removed by breeding F1 progeny with a codon-optimized FLP recombinase (FLPo) germline deleter strain. (J:314932)
