The targeting construct inserted a loxP site upstream of exon 1 and an FRT-flanked neomycin resistance cassette with a 3' loxP site downstream of exon 1. Flp-mediated recombination removed the selection cassette. Cre-mediated recombination removed exon 1. (J:333962)
