An FRT-flanked IRES-lacZ/neomycin resistance gene cassette and loxP site were inserted upstream of exon 8 and a second loxP site was inserted downstream of the 3 UTR. The lacZ/neomycin selection cassette was removed via flp-mediated recombination leaving exons 8-11 and the 3 UTR floxed. (J:262771)
