Exon 4 and 5 were replaced with exons engineered to introduce human sequence by replacing the DAENI amino acid sequence with its human counterpart GNEEMGGITQT that encodes for a common epitope recognized by anti-human CD3E antibodies.. A loxP-flanked neomycin cassette was inserted in intron 4. The neomycin cassette was removed via cre-mediated recombination. (J:331729)
