A bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC; RP23-151J22) containing the mouse smooth muscle myosin, heavy polypeptide 11 (Myh11) gene was used to insert a cre/ERT2 sequence (a mutated human estrogen receptor ligand binding domain fused to Cre) at the start codon of Myh11. The founder line F31, in which the transgene integrated into mouse Chromosome 2 in a region devoid of other genes [Chr2:178,826,578-178,826,802 (GRCm39)], was identified. (J:332260)
