Exon 2 was flanked by loxP sites and an frt-flanked neomycin selection cassette. The selection cassette was removed via FLP1-mediated recombination, leaving loxP sites flanking exon 2. Subsequent Cre-mediated recombination in the germline removed exon 2. (J:283091)
