The FRT flanked LacZ-neo-cassette and a loxP replaced a portion of the intron between exons 2 and 3 of the Tjp1 gene. A second loxP site was inserted into the intron between exon 3 and 4, leaving the exon 3 flanked by a pair of loxP. The allele is a hypomorph of ZO-1 isoform resulting in a significant reduction in Tjp1 mRNA levels in the heterozygous mice. (J:321611)
