The targeting construct obtained from Helmholtz Zentrum Muenchen GmbH inserted upstream of exon 5 an FRT site, splice acceptor, IRES sequence, lacZ reporter gene, polyadenylation sequence, loxP site, neomycin resistance cassette, FRT site, and loxP site. An additional loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 5. Flp-mediated recombination removed the reporter gene and selection cassette. (J:318712)
