The targeting construct inserted upstream of exon 14 an FRT site, lacZ reporter gene, loxP site, neomycin resistance cassette, FRT site, and loxP site. It also inserted downstream of exon 16. Flp-mediated recombination removed the reporter and selection cassette, leaving exons 14 through 16 floxed. Cre-mediated recombination removed exons 14 through 16. (J:319843)
