The targeting construct inserted upstream of exon 3 an FRT-flanked neomycin resistance cassette with a a 3' loxP site and downstream of exon 5 a loxP site. Flp-mediated recombination removed the selection cassette and left exons 3 through 5 floxed. (J:318724)
