The RP23-392-P11 BAC transgene construct with cre recombinase, the SV40 poly(A) signal, and a kanamycin resistance gene at the ATG (translational initiation site) of the Slc32a1 (Vgat or Viaat) locus used for Tg(Slc32a1-cre)65Kzy line described in J:202863 was used to generate the allele. An independent line ZI showing cre expression mainly expressed in the reticular nucleus and zona incerta, with sparse expression in the striatum was used for this study. (J:254126)
