Using homologous recombination in ES cells, a loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 3 and a 3' loxP site with FRT flanked neo selection cassette was inserted downstream of exon 5. The neo cassette was removed by crossing F1 generation mice to with protamine-Flp mice. (J:263481)
