A pair of loxP sites were inserted to flank the exon 2 of the Derl1 gene by standard targeting method for homologous recombination in ES cells. The FRT flanked neomycin resistance cassette was also inserted in the intron 2 and later removed by Flp-mediated recombination. (J:311891)
