Using a bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC: RP23-227M5) homologous recombination, a transgene with an eGFP-2A-iCre cassette was inserted at the start codon of the mouse Nfil3 gene in exon 2 was generated. The recombinant BAC transgene was then injected into fertilized C57BL/6N mouse eggs. Three lines were generated with similar expression patterns.
