The targeting construct inserted a loxP site upstream of exon 7, a floxed neomycin resistance cassette with a 5 FRT site, IRES, lacZ reporter gene, and FRT were inserted downstream of exon 5. Flp-mediated recombination removed the selection and reporter constructs and left exons 5 through 7 floxed. (J:306367)
