The transgenic construct contains the following elements: a loxP site, exons 1-3 of the BALB/c (d haplotype) derived H2-L gene, a second loxP site, and the remaining five exons. The two loxP sites are different to ensure an irreversible recombination event in the presence of cre. (J:284394)
