A lacZ gene was inserted in-frame into the coding region, followed by a loxP-flanked neomycin selection cassette. The neomycin selection cassette was removed via cre-mediated recombination in the germline. Northern blot experiments confirmed the absence of transcript expression from this allele. (J:288588)
