The targeting vector is designed to insert a loxP site upstream of exon 3 and an FRT-flanked neomycin resistance (neo) cassette, in reverse orientation to the gene, downstream of exon 6. A second loxP site is inserted downstream of the neo cassette. Flp-mediated recombination removed the FRT-flanked neo cassette leaving exons 3 through 6 floxed. (J:300959)
