A loxP site and a neomycin resistance gene cassette were inserted into intron 1 and a second loxP site downstream of exon 4. Exons 2-4 were deleted through subsequent cre-mediated recombination. Western blot experiments confirmed the absence of protein expression from this allele. (J:198968)
