The targeting construct is designed to replace exon 1 with a loxP-flanked neomycin cassette. Exon 1 includes the DM domain, a zinc finger-like DNA-binding motif, as well as the transcription start site. Cre-mediated recombination removed the floxed neo cassette. (J:254118)
