A loxP site was inserted into intron 1 and a second loxP site plus an FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene into intron 2. Exon 2 was deleted through subsequent cre-mediated recombination. Northern blot analysis of brain RNA confirmed absence of transcript expression from this allele. (J:294154)
