The tdTomato red fluorescent protein gene, preceded by an artificial intron and followed by bovine growth hormone gene poly(A) signal sequence, and an FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette were inserted into the endogenous ATG start codon. The neo cassette was removed through subsequent flp-mediated recombination, leaving a reporter null allele. (J:243655)
