The human ACE2 cDNA is under the control of the mouse cardiac alpha-myosin heavy chain promoter. Two lines (1 and 2) were generated. Line 2 is a high expression line. Western blot analysis confirmed expression in the heart but not in lung, liver, kidney, or spleen. However, analysis of hearts shows that protein is progressively downregulated with increasing age.
