A LoxP site was inserted into intron 1 and a second loxP site and an FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette into intron 2. Exon 2 was deleted through subsequent cre-mediated deletion (Tek-cre transgene). Southern blotting, PCR, and western blotting experiments confirmed deletion of the exon and lack of expression from the allele. (J:294294)
