LoxP sites were inserted into non-conserved intronic regions 553bp upstream and 530bp downstream of exon 2. The 3' LoxP site was preceded by a Frt-flanked neomycin (Neo) cassette. Exon 2 and the neomycin selection cassette were removed in the germline via FLP and Cre-mediated recombination. (J:287691)
