A DNA fragment carrying a 34bp loxP sequence and Pgk-1 promoter-driven neomycin phosphotransferase gene (Pgk-neo) flanked by two Flp recognition target (frt) sites was inserted into the site 233bp upstream of exon 4. Another loxP site was introduced into the site 223bp downstream of exon 4. Exon 4 and the neomycin selection cassette were removed via Cre-mediated recombination in the germline. (J:242361)
