A loxP site was inserted upstream of the gene, and an FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette and a second loxP site downstream. The neo cassette was removed through subsequent flp-mediated recombination. Subsequent cre-mediated recombination deleted the gene. (J:266583)
