Exons 2-6 of the gene were flanked by loxP sites and a cassette consisting of an adenoviral splice acceptor site fused to an IRES and a GFP gene ws inserted downstream of the second loxP site. An frt-flanked neomycin selection cassette was removed via FLP-mediated recombination. Upon cre-mediated recombination, exons 2-6 are removed and the GFP reporter gene is expressed under the endogenous promoter. (J:262898)
