The targeting vector is designed to insert a loxP site in exon 1 (upstream of the translation start site), and an FRT-flanked neo cassette followed by a second loxP site downstream of exon 3. Flp-mediated recombination removed the FRT-flanked neo cassette. Cre-mediated recombination removed exons 1-3 and part of the downstream intron. (J:282820)
