The transgenic construct contains a 5.8 kb fragment of the Nes (nestin) promoter, a cyan fluorescent protein (CFP) with a nuclear localization domain followed by an SV40 polyA and a 1.8 kb fragment containing the Nes enhancer region in the second intron. The inclusion of the enhancer from the second intron directs expression to neural tissues. (J:271877)
