A loxP site and PGK-neo cassette were inserted into intron 1 and a second loxP site was inserted in intron 6. Cre-mediated recombination deleted exons 2-6 and the PGK-neo cassette. Western blot analysis confirmed absence of protein in the spinal dorsal horn and hippocampus. (J:279657)
