Using homologous recombination, tyrosine codon 271 was changed to a phenylalanine codon (p.Y271F). This mutation humanizes the mouse gene since primates have a Y271. An FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette that was inserted, was removed through subsequent flp-mediated recombination. (J:278788)
