A STOP cassette (triple polyadenylation signal sequences) was inserted into exon 3, truncating Dlx6os1 splice variant Evf2. This generates an allele that doesn't express Evf1, but expresses truncated enhancer-containing form Evf2-5' that lacks the Evf2 3' end. The Evf2-5' transcript retains transcription across the Dlx5/Dlx6 ultra-conserved enhancer (UCE) Rr291 and retains Dlx6 antisense transcription. Expression of Dlx5 is increased. A loxP site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette was removed by cre-mediated recombination. (J:265948)
