Exon 1 was replaced by a beta-galactosidase/puromycin (betageo/puro) selection cassette. Western blot analysis revealed absence of a glycosylated form of the protein in liver plasma membranes of homozygous mutant mice. Immunofluorescence staining confirmed the absence of protein signal in fresh frozen liver tissue. (J:274149)
