Exons 1 and 2 were replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. Quantitative RT-PCR analysis revealed a significant reduction of mRNA levels in E18.5 homozygous mutant lungs. Western blot analysis and immunohistochemistry confirmed the absence of protein expression in E18.5 mutant lungs. (J:265611)
