The BAC336 clone of a mouse 129 SvJ BAC library was modified to create the transgene construct. This clone contains both the Nppa and Nppb genes. The sequences cccacgccagcATGggc and cggcATGgatc at the translation start sites of Nppa and Nppb were replaced by firefly Luciferase and dimeric bright red fluorescent protein Katushka, respectively. Two mouse lines were generated with randomly integrated multiple copies of the Luciferase-Katushka BAC construct (BAC336LK, lines 1 and 2. (J:229075, J:275070)
