Most of exon 3 encoding aa 165 to 1272 was replaced by a loxP-flanked neomycin resistance gene. Western blot analysis revealed the complete absence of protein expression in lung tissues from homozygous mutant mice. Immunofluorescence staining confirmed the absence of protein in homozygous mutant aortas. (J:247469)
