The transgene construct contains a modified full-length human cDNA inserted between the CAG promoter/enhancer and rabbit beta-globin poly(A) signal sequences. To enhance secretion of the encoded peptide, the cDNA was modified by replacing the human signal peptide sequence with that of the chicken ortholog. (J:276687)
