A cassette containing mammalianized tTA-SV40 polyadenylation signal-FRT-Neo-FRT was inserted into the translation initiation site of a BAC (clone RP23-112F24) carrying the Tph2 gene. Three founder mice were obtained (lines 6, 102, 108). Lines 102 and 108 exhibit ectopic mtTA mRNA expressions in the hippocampus and the dorsal cortex, but line 6 does not. (J:276539)
