The gene was targeted using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. A mixture of four sgRNAs, two targeted upstream and two targeted downstream of the coding region of the gene, plus Cas9 mRNA was injected into (B6 x D2)F1 zygote pronuclei. Of the ten candidate mouse lines, line 5 was used for further experiments. The allele in these mice has a 912 bp deletion in the gene. (J:274740)
