A loxP site was inserted into intron 1 and a second loxP site into intron 2. The FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette that was also inserted, was removed through subsequent flp-mediated recombination. This leaves a conditional-ready allele with exon 2 floxed. (J:274081)
