A H2-Dd/H2-Ld hybrid mutant transcript consisting of sequences encoding a fusion protein containing 1/4 of the N terminal of H2-Dd and 3/4 of the C terminus of Ld is formed in NC/Nga mice. This transcript differs from the similar H2d transcripts in that there are 22 novel mutations at the amino-acid (aa) level in the fusion H2 protein in NC/Nga mice compared to mice carrying H2d.
