The SJL/J, NZB/BINJ, C57BL/10J, C57BL/6J, RIIIS/J, MA/MyJ, SWR/J and A/J strains carry this allele. The molecular difference with other strains is the deletion of three base pairs (TTC) in the coding region of exon 4. This deletes a lysine between glutamic acid 235 and asparagine 236 in the encoded protein (UniProt Q8CB14), that confers resistance to urethane-induced pulmonary adenomas. This allele co-occurs with the 4930503L19Rikrs30066196-T, 4930503L19Rikrs216509331-G, 4930503L19Rikrs29775155-C, 4930503L19Rikrs30245983-A, and 4930503L19Rikrs241863237-ins alleles to confer sensitivity. Through epistatic interaction with the Lrmprs13459098-C sensitive and Lrmprs13459098-T resistant alleles in the pulmonary adenoma susceptibility 1 (Pas1) region these Par2 alleles modulate the sensitivity or resistance of the two Pas1 alleles.
