Exon 2 was flanked by loxP sites, with one loxP site positioned inside the 3' UTR of exon 2. A FRT-flanked neomycin cassette that was inserted between the first loxP site and exon 2, was removed via flp-mediated recombination leaving a floxed exon 2 ORF. (J:271028)
