Mouse Thy1 regulatory elements drive expression of YFP. The transgene was intended to express WGA plus LacZ following excision of YFP by Cre, but neither WGA nor LacZ were expressed at detectable levels. In the TYW3 line, transgene is present in 5 tandem copies and insertion resulted in a 420 kb deletion 7 kb upstream of Khdrbs2. In this line, some RGCs are labeled brightly and others dimly, and more RGCs are labeled in the ventral portion of the retina than in the dorsal side. (J:157687, J:271391)
