Using BAC clone RP22-439G2, a loxP site was inserted upstream of the Kozak sequence in the 5' UTR and an FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette and a second loxP site were inserted in the 3' UTR. Subsequent flp-mediated recombination removed the neo cassette, leaving a conditional-ready allele with the single-exon coding region floxed. (J:267715)
