Using the BAC containing Sox10 regulatory regions, a Cre recombinase coding region fused with a mutated ligand-binding domain of the human estrogen receptor (ERT2) was inserted directly downstream of the transcription initiation site. LoxP sites in the BAC flanking arms were removed prior to microinjection. The Sox10 regulatory regions drive neural crest-specific expression of CreERT2 recombinase. (J:299312)
